Volume 1: First of a four-part series on New Haven Power. Gone since 1969, the New Haven rostered a fleet of unique B-A1A electric/diesel-electric passenger locomotives which replaced older Alco units. Alco freight cabs and boosters, experimental lightweight passenger units. FL9 coverage includes post New Haven owners.

Volume 2: Coverage begins with the Alco roadswitchers, of which New Haven owned the RS1, RS2, RS3 and RS11 models, then introduces the Fairbanks-Morse H16-44, both the passenger and freight series units. Also featured are the only EMD roadswitchers on the pike: 30 dual-purpose GP9s. Rounding out the motive power is a detailed look at the second-generation purchases of Alco C-425s and GE U25Bs.

Volume 3: Volume 3 illustrates the company’s fascinating self-propelled passenger equipment, both electric and diesel, as well as the Mack railbus models. The RDCs, the diverse fleet of electric MU equipment, and the DOT Turbo era on New Haven are all featured!

Volume 4: This final volume covers switchers and electric motive power of the New Haven, from the smallest GE 44-tonners to the Alco, Lima, and EMD Sw12100s (and others)! Electric coverage includes early electrics, the “Virginians”, “Jets”, and post-New Haven electric operations by Penn Central.
