The second Erie Lackawanna volume of master photographer Robert F. Collins covers the road’s final years in the 1970s. After a fleeting few years that promised some prosperity, the road spiraled down into bankruptcy and couldn’t be reorganized despite the road’s heroic efforts. SD45’s and U33C’s now handle Erie Lackawanna’s hotshots while new U34CH’s arrive for the commuter trains.
