Beginning in 1951, two eager Midwesterners, Sandy Goodrick and Bill Janssen, began a quest to chronicle the electric operation of the Milwaukee Road in color. Their beautiful Kodachromes of bi-polars and maroon-and-orange Little Joes are magnificently featured in Under Milwaukee Wires: The Color Photography of Sanford Goodrick and William C. Janssen, originally published in 1996.
