The present-day Greenwood Breaker was erected in the early 1960s by the Greenwood Coal Company on a leased site of the LC&N's former #10 colliery. In 1989 the LC&N took over operation of the new breaker and continues to operate it after a refurbishing that was completed in 2007. It is the only remaining operating colliery in the Panther Valley area and is specially constructed to recover the very smallest-sized powdered anthracite. It is shown here in 1975. (Mike Bednar)
